South
West Victoria Regional Coastal Action Plan 2002
|
In order
to improve coastal and marine planning in south west Victoria
the South West Victoria Regional Coastal Action Plan (SWCAP) has
been prepared to coordinate and integrate relevant coastal and
marine planning and management activities and the responsible
organisations. The impetus for undertaking integrated coastal
and marine planning in the region has come about through the Federal
Government's Coastal and Marine Planning Program of the Coasts
and Clean Seas initiative and has been implemented through the
preparation of this Regional Coastal Action Plan by regional agencies
and communities.
The SWCAP applies to the coastal and marine zone between Moonlight
Head and the South Australian border. The study area extends inland
to the variable limit of tidal influence along the river estuaries
and seawards to the three nautical mile state territorial waters
limit.
